Smoothies, Acting, and P.O.L.'s!

Happy Friday!

Here is a summary of this week's adventures!

Thank you to all of the Hardworking Journalists and their families for the wonderful treats and special messages for Teacher Appreciation Day!  We all love working with these amazing friends.

Did you know the Hardworking Journalists have some very green thumbs?  They have planted, harvested, and eaten broccoli, cheddar cauliflower, snowy cauliflower, kale, rainbow chard, rainbow carrots, jeweled beets, sugar snap peas, curly leaf lettuce, bokchoy, and red leaf lettuce!  Amazing.

After working in the garden, the friends used the following ingredients to make a fresh kale smoothie:

1 cup chopped kale
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1 fresh banana
1-2 oranges squeezed juice only
1/2 cup -1 cup rice milk

Blend and enjoy!

In other news, we had some interesting shares this week, including how to use a Chinese Finger Trap.  Those things are so tricky!  Some friends said, only a magician would know how to get out of one of those things!

Another share was a dance that a friend learned.

Thumbs out!

Elbows in!

Tongue out!

Legs apart!

Then, tiddy tap, tiddy tap, tiddy tap (in a circle)

Our committees finished working on props and costumes for the Marcia Brown's version of Stone Soup re-enactment.  We listed the first few scenes that we would act out, got into costume, found the perfect setting, and lights, camera, ACTION!

We still have many more scenes to record, and I can't wait!

This week, friends have brainstormed different things that they have learned and found significant during their time in Kindergarten.  As you can see, this list got very full and we ran out of space!  All of these ideas helped friends decide what they would like to highlight during their presentation of learning.

I hope you all have a great weekend together and enjoy the gifts your child worked on for you.  It's lovely to hear them being so thoughtful during their work time, hoping that they got their mom's favorite color or animal just right!  It's truly a pleasure.

Thank you to everyone who popped in to check up on me and thanks for the great chats!  It's wonderful to catch up with you!
Love, Gaby
