Peter and the Wolf and MORE!!

Hello all!

Here's a sneak peak into our time together at school.  Ask your child to give you more information about their experience in class.

Fine Motor Skills with Allyson

Ask your child to show you the Crawling Ants Song and feel how much your muscles get worked!

Friends were split into two teams and were invited to write different letters on the board.  Friends assessed which letters met all the steps to being written correctly (started top to bottom, touched all the right guide lines [top, middle, bottom], and was facing the right direction).  You could play this game at home, too!

A Special Birthday Celebration

Thank you Karina for being our Family Reader this week!

Our 7th Grade Buddies helped us give feedback for the illustrations of our collaborative book.

We listened to the CD of "Peter and the Wolf"

The Philharmonic Wind Quintet, an in-residence performing arts group with Young People's Concerts of San Diego, Ladies Musical Club "Music in the Schools" and the San Diego Institute for Arts Education, was able to come to our school to perform, "Peter and the Wolf". Featuring original music by Sergei Prokofief arranged for woodwind quintet, complete with narration, as well as an explanation of each instrument.

Student reactions to some of the tunes heard from the varying instruments.

On with the show!

Bravo!

Love, Gaby

  2. Thanks for the post Gaby. It looks like Allyson must have had her baby by now :) I love seeing all of the pictures. Now I can ask Eli better questions about all of these happenings!

  3. Emma's been the singing the Ant, the Bug, and the Bee song and sang again for us It takes A Whole village to Raise a Child. The Anansi set looked great. Emma said that the Philharmonic Wind Quintet was interesting because the first quintet she ever saw so up close. She said that she liked the flute because it was the most gentle instrument and she especially enjoyed Clara's flute version of Let It Go! Emma also liked the French horn, because it could high and low notes. Thanks.
