Exhibition Night and MORE!!!

Good evening!

Thanks for stopping by to go through these memories with your child to hear their input on all of our adventures together. Enjoy!

Language Activity

This week, we thought about homophones.  We hear them all the time, encountering in our speech and readings.  Check out some of the class' ideas below.  What other homophones can you come up with?

Number Talks

I introduced this magnetic Ten Frame to help us continue our exploration of numbers.  How many dots do you see?  How do you know?

Drama with Natasha

Why are these guys making these silly faces at Natasha!?!  Ask your child to find out more!

Family Reader

Thank you Lea for joining us last minute and sharing some great stories with our friends.

7th Grade Buddies

We were invited to check out what our Buddies have been working on for Exhibition Night.  We also got the chance to share our work with them!  It was so special to see how excited these guys were to share their work with their friends.  Ask your child what they thought was interesting about this groups' hard work.

Exhibition Night Prep

We worked together to agree how to set up the classroom to best present our video for the big night.  I drew the floor plan and then edited the diagram as they helped decide where to move all of the furniture.

Exhibition Night

Thank you to everyone who was able to come and take part in this important part of our learning process.

All School Assembly

The 3rd Grade class shared their process with giving surveys to the public and bring awareness about the effects of using plastic bags.

Birthday Celebration

Thank you to Victoria and Fiona for sharing Fiona's special day with us!

Singing Songs

Steal the Bacon

Birthday High Fives

Blueberry Muffins!

Gardening with Beth

Check out these friends working hard, beautifying our school.  Thanks Loving Reading Scientists!

Water Coloring

We tested a new technique with our water colors:  wet on wet.  We were noticing how the colors bled into each other on the paper making fuzzy mixtures and beautiful colors.

BINGO!

Friends played an intense game of Alphabet Bingo with Clara, looking for the upper case or lower case letter in the correct column of their page.  We got a lot of people who were REALLY close to getting BINGO, and ONE friend who actually DID get BINGO!  Whoo hoo!!

Spring Celebration

A friend brought a wish to celebrate Easter as a group and through discussion and deciding what about this time of year was so special that we would want to honor it, we found that a lot of exciting things happen in spring time!  When we come back together, I can't wait to get the wheels rolling on making our ideas come to life.  We've already set the date:  April 22nd-- EARTH DAY!!  How perfect is that?!?  Stay tuned to hear how you can help!

Love, Gaby

  1. We enjoyed seeing Megan's sister Brooke performing here! Megan also is very sad that Clara is leaving and says she is going to miss her, but actually is happy for her brother Patrick since he will be enjoying Clara's company. Thank you for everything!

  2. It was great to be able to see all the children's research on Exhibition night. Emma also enjoyed the chocolate coin from her 7th Grade Buddy's Exhibition project. She was also excited about Fiona's birthday and about stealing the Bacon and pretending to eat it. The silly faces exercise with Natasha and gardening with Beth continues to be fun.
