Researching Etiquette

Hello again everyone,

We have been continuing our preparations for our New Year's Love Party, and one way that we are getting ready is by discussing proper etiquette.  Unfortunately, YouTube and the Internet have not been cooperating in the classroom, so I ask that you please share these videos with your child at home and discuss what they notice.

We were able to watch the following videos and shared some thoughts in a chart, organizing them into the categories: the setting, tea/food, outfits, actions.

Here are what the students observed:

Please enjoy the following videos at home and make your own chart with your child to add to our discussions.

Please discuss what similarities and differences your child observed in the videos and write down their words in your own chart:

Setting:  What tools did they use at the tea party?

Outfits:  How were people dressed?

Food/Teas- What did they enjoy?  How did they prepare it?

Actions- How were people behaving?  How did they interact with each other?

What other pertinent information did your child find interesting after watching these videos?  Please have your child bring in their charts tomorrow so that we can compare ideas and make our solid agreements for the party.

Thank you!
Gaby
