Happy December!!
Enjoy these snapshots from our first week back from our holiday break.
Nature Studies with Mary
Have fun discussing the bearded dragon named Blue that friends met.
Art with Gaby
Unfortunately, Niki was out sick this week, so friends worked on their paintings for Exhibition Night, instead. We used watercolor pencils to color in the illustrations of one of the following: a scorpion's anatomy, diet, prey, or habitat. What is your child working on?
Excitement Shares
Friends continue to bring in the exciting things they are studying and practicing at home. Friends have brought in a wide range of interesting discussion starters:
Specimen found in their garden
Books they practice reading at home with their family
A sample from a sewing project
Origami practice
Explaining how to use an encyclopedia
Sharing observations and theories about fire ants' anatomy and defense mechanisms
Ball in Spoon Relay
Ask your friend how to play this fun game. What was challenging for them? What strategy did they use to help them complete the task? How did they feel at the end?
Change the Vowel
This is still one of our favorite games. Ask your child how to play and enjoy a few rounds together!
Outdoor Education with Coach Curry and Coach Q
This week, friends practiced dribbling while walking.
Coach Curry also explained which parts of our hands need to be used in order to dribble effectively.
Finger pads and finger tips
Push it down!
Robotics
Friends worked in partnerships to navigate their robotic cars around and knock over their targets.
Special Messages for Karsen
This week was our helper, Karsen's, last week. Friends worked diligently to give her a happy send off with words of love and well wishes. Below are some examples of their hard work. Sorry I did not catch each person's work!
Thank you Karsen for all of your love and support!
Yoga
Don't forget that IA is offering after school Yoga class. Check in at the office for more information if your child is interested in participating.
In other news...
Here are some snapshots of the different discussions we've been having in class. Ask your child about their thoughts and impressions.
Party Planning
We have also been planning our next party. Stay tuned for more information!
